1Abraham Lincoln wrote the text on page one. He presented this notice in the House
of Representatives on January 27, 1835.

2On Thursday, January 29, John Dawson introduced A Bill relative to a State Road Therein Named, although Abraham Lincoln had written the bill. The bill became law on February 12, 1835. Lincoln also authored a copy of the bill that included the report of the road commissioners.
