Frank Leathe to Abraham Lincoln, 27 November 18481
Sir,
I am engaged in collecting the autographs of American Statesmen. The high position you occupy has imparted to me a desire to possess your own. I am particularly anxious to add it to my list as you are the only Whig member from your state. If you should think proper to honor me by noticing this communication you will confer a favor for which I shall feel grateful.
Very respectfully
Your obt. Servt.[obedient Servant]
