following bill:

For the relief of Captain Henry M. Shreve.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Repre-
sentatives of the United States of America in Congress
assembled
, That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he
is hereby, directed to pay to Captain Henry M. Shreve, out
of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated,
the sum of eighty-five thousand dollars, which is to be in
full and entire satisfaction for the past use by the United
States of his patented steam snag-boat, and in full an en-
tire satisfaction for all of his right, title, and interest in and to
the patent heretofore granted to him for the said snag-boat,
and in full satisfaction for all claims pertaining to his ser-
vice as superintendent of improvements in the navigation
of any one or more of the western rivers.
