Mr. Henley, from the Committee on Patents, reported the following bill:
A BILL
To extend to John J. Adams a patent for flattening cylinder window glass1
⋄Strike out all after the enacting clause and insert,⋄
⋄That the application of John J. Adams for an extension of the patent heretofore granted
to him for his invention of a machine for flattening cylinder window glass may be
made at any time within six months after the passage of this act in the manner prescribed
by existing laws with the like effect and the same privileges and advantages as though
he had made such application within the time prescribed by existing laws: provided
that no right of action shall accrue to the said John J. Adams by virtue of said
renewal
^extension^ for any violation of the patent so extended which shall happen within six months
after the removal of such patent shall be granted⋄

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Repre- sentatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, ^(^That the Commissioner of Patents be, and and he is hereby, authorized, according to the provisions of existing laws, to renew and extend for the term of seven years the letters patent heretofore granted to John J. Adams for his invention of a machine for flattening cylin- der window glass.^)^ |
