Chap. LXXXIX. — An Act for the Relief of Thomas Scott, Register of the Land Office at Chillicothe,
Ohio, for Services connected with the Duties of his Office.
The Secretary of the Treasury to pay Thomas Scott such amount as may be a reasonable compensation for extra labor performed by persons
employed by him.
Proviso: whole amount not to exceed $500.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America
in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he hereby is, directed to pay, out of any
money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, to Thomas Scott, late register of
the land office at Chillicothe, Ohio, such amount as may be a reasonable compensation
for extra labor performed by persons employed by him, in consequence of the transfer
to said office of the business of certain other land offices, under the act approved
June twelfth, eighteen hundred and forty: Provided, That the whole amount so paid shall not exceed five hundred dollars.
