Mr. Taylor, on leave, introduced a bill “to extend the time for locating Virginia military land warrants, and returning surveys thereon, to the General Land Office:” which was read twice, and referred to the Committee on Public Lands.
January 25, 1848.
Mr. Collamer, from the Committee on Public Lands, reported back the following substitute for said bill: which was read, and committed to the Committee of the Whole House on the state of the Union.

Further to extend the time for locating Virginia military land warrants, and returning surveys thereon, to the General Land Office.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Repre-
sentatives of the United States of America in Congress
assembled
, That the act, entitledAn act further to ex-
tend the time for locating Virginia military land war-
rants, and returning surveys thereon, to the General Land
Office
,” approved August nineteen, eighteen hundred and
forty
^-one^, and as to all warrants issued prior to the tenth day
of August
, eighteen hundred and forty, and no others, be,
and the same is, hereby revived and continued in force
until the first day of January
, eighteen hundred and fifty.

Sec 2d And be it further enacted
That the same right and privilege is hereby also extended ^for the same time^ to all such warrants as have issued subsequent to said tenth day of August A.D [18410?] provided that before the location thereof it shall be shown to the satisfaction of The ^Secretary of the Treasury^ Secretary of War ^Commissioner of the Genl. Land Office^ ^& ^that such warrant was issued justly and legally and that the person ^or persons^ who received said warrant was legally entitled to the same
