For the relief of Esther Russell.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Repre-
sentatives of the United States of America in Congress
assembled
, That the Secretary of War be directed to in-
crease the pension of Esther Russell, widow of Philip M.
Russell, a surgeon’s mate in the army of the Revolution,
to such sum as would have been allowed her husband for a
service of two years as surgeon’s mate during the war of
the Revolution, by virtue of an act passed the seventh day
of June, eighteen hundred and thirty-two, entitled “An act
supplementary to the act for the relief of certain surviving
officers and soldiers of the Revolution;” said pension, so
increased, to commence from the fourth day of January,
eighteen hundred and forty-eight, and to continue for and
during her natural life.
