Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized to cancel the several bonds given by the Red River Railroad Company for the duties on certain railroad bars of iron imported for the use of said company, and which bars were imported at New Orleans in the months of February and March, eighteen hundred and thirty-seven; and he is hereby further authorized to enter the judgments satisfied, which have been obtained by the United States against said company on their bonds, upon the defendants paying the costs of said suits: Provided, That it shall appear to the satisfaction of the Secretary of the Treasury that the said railroad bars have been, and are ow, permanently laid down upon the railroad of the aforesaid company.
