Making app[ro]priations for the payment of revolutionary and other pensions of the United States for the year ending the thirtieth June, one thousand eight hundred and forty-nine.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Repre- sentatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the following be, and the same are here- by, appropriated, out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the payment of pensions for the year ending the thirtieth of June, one thousand eight hundred and forty-nine: For revolutionary pensions, under the act of the eighteenth of March, one thousand eight hundred andeighteen, four ⋄ Line 10th —after the word “eighteen” insert ^strike out after the word “four” in line 10 and insert:^“A’^ ^ “in addition to the ^an^ unexpended balance remaining in the treasury of $83.877.43 cts “fourteen” 1st ⋄ thousand one hundred and twenty-two dollarsand fifty-seven cents. |

For invalid pensions, under various acts, two hundred and sixty thousand dollars. For pensions to widows and orphans, under the act of the fourth of July, one thousand eight hundred [and] thirty-six, ⋄vinton “B” 108. Line 16: after the word “thirty-six,” insert “in addition to an unexpended balance remaining in the treasury of $151.156.36 cts” 2d ⋄thirty-two thousand eight hundred and fo[?] three dollars and sixty-four cents. ⋄(Insert after line 17) 108. vinton “C.” For pensions to widows under the act of the 2d February 1848 in addition to the unexpended balance of $263.729.87 remaining in the treasury of a former appropriation for the payment of pensions under the act of 17th June 1844 $1.36.270.13. $136.870.13 3d A.⋄ For half-pay pensions to widows and orphans, pay [a] ble through the Third Auditor’s office, ⋄vinton 108 “D” Line 19: after the word “office” insert: “in addition to an unexpended balance remaining in the treasury of $8.790.04 cts” 4th A.⋄ nine thousand five hundred dollars. For arrearages prior to the first of January ^“July”^ one th[ou] sand eight hundred and seventeen ^“fifteen”^ payable through the offices of the Second and Third Auditors, ^in ad—^ ⋄vinton—108. “E” Line 21 Strike out the word “January” and in lieu thereof ^5^ insert the word “July” Line 22 Strike out the word “seventeen” and in lieu thereof ^6^insert the word “fifteen”, Line 23 After the word “Auditors” insert the words “in addition ^7^ to an unexpended balance of $3.201.45 cts”.⋄ eight hundred ^5^ dollars. |

Be it further enacted, That the Proviso to the 2nd section of the act entitled, An act making appropriations for the payment of revolutionary and other pensions of the United States for the year ending the thirtieth June, one thousand eight hundred and forty seven and for other purposes,” ( approved May 7th 1846, be and the same is hereby repealed⋄
