To amend the first section of “An act to regulate the carriage
of passengers in merchant vessels.”

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Repre- sentatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That, from and after the passage of this act, the first section of “An act to regulate the carriage of pas- sengers in merchant vessels,” approved February twenty- two, eighteen hundred and forty-seven, shall be so amend- ed, as that only fourteen clear superficial feet on the lower deck or platform shall be require for each passenger when vessels pass within the tropics. |
