Mr. Yell, from the Committee on Military Affairs, reported the following bill.

A BILL
To establish an armory at Fort Massac, in the State of Illinois.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
of the United States of America in Congress assembled
, That
the sum of fifty thousand dollars be, and the same is hereby ap-
propriated, from any money in the treasury not otherwise ap-
propriated, towards the purchase of a site and the building of a
national armory for the manufacture of small arms at Fort Mas-
sac, in the State of Illinois: Provided, That the site can be pur-
chased for such sum of money as the Secretary of War shall
deem reasonable and just.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the armory here-
by authorized shall be placed under charge of the ordnance de-
partment of the army, in like manner as the other armories now
established.
