A Bill to Establish a Judicial District in the western part of the State of arkansas
Section 1st Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in congress assembled, that the counties the counties of Servier Scott Crawford and Benton and ^[?] ^ Washington in the state of arkansas shall be one Judicial District to be called the Western District of arkansas, and there shall be a district court therein to consist of one Judge who shall reside in said District, and annually hold six sessions of said court at the Town of Van Buren on the arkansas River in the said county of Crawford as follows to wit: On the first mondays of January, March, May, July, September, and November, and continue and adjourn from time to time as the court may deem expedient for the despatch of the business thereof.
2nd That the said court shall, besides the ordinary jurisdiction thereof of a District court, have jurisdiction of all causes except of appeals and writs of Error cognizable by law in the a circuit court and proceed therein in the same manner as a circuit court, and writs of Error and appeal shall be from decissions judgements and appeals de[?]s therein to the Supreme court of the United States, in the same manner and like cases as from circuit courts
3 That The District Court hereby established shall have and it is hereby vested with Exclusive power and jurisdiction to hear
