Making an appropriation for the improvement of the Mississippi river.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Repre- sentatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the sum of one hundred thousand dollars be, and the same is hereby, appropriated, to be paid out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, to be expended under the direction of the Secretary of War, for the removal of snags and other obstructions to the navi- gation of the Mississippi river. |
