BE IT ENACTED
By the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in
Congress Assembled.
That the Secretary of War be, and he is hereby, authorized to allow to the legal representatives of Abraham Hogeboom, deceased, such sum as he may deem just and equitable, for moneys disbursed by said Hogeboom, while acting as emigrating agent in the removal of the New York Indians in eighteen hundred and forty-six, not exceeding five hundred and twelve dollars and fifty-six cents; and the Secretary of the Treasury is hereby directed to pay, out of any moneys not otherwise appropriated, such sum as the Secretary of War shall certify to be justly due, as aforesaid: Provided, That the balance due to the United States from said Hogeboom at the time of his death, shall have been previously paid into the treasury.
