BE IT ENACTED
By the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in
Congress Assembled.
That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, directed to ascertain the value of the buildings at North Point, in Maryland, belonging to Bernard Todd, which in September, eighteen hundred and fourteen, were burned by the British troops; also, the value of the personal property burnt and destroyed in said buildings, or elsewhere, in consequence of the burning of said buildings on the occasion aforesaid, and belonging to said Bernard Todd, and pay the amount thus ascertained, to the legal representatives of Bernard Todd, from any moneys in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, in full compensation for such loss or destruction.
