Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
Sec. 1. That the noncommissioned officers and private soldiers—both regulars & volunteers, who have been, now are, or hereafter may be engaged in the existing war with Mexico, shall be allowed ten dollars per month during the time they have been or may hereafter be engaged in said war.
