Whereas, land warrant number one thousand four hundred and sixty-nine, for one hundred
acres of land, issued third February, one thousand eight hundred and twenty-nine,
in favor of Adam Hart, who was a private of the North Carolina continental line, which
warrant has not been surrendered at the General Land Office, and therefore not satisfied
by the issue of a patent or of scrip; and whereas, said warrant is believed to be
lost, and there is no law authorizing the Secretary of War to issue land warrants
of the revolutionary class in lieu of any such as may have been lost or destroyed:
Therefore,
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America
in Congress assembled. That the Secretary of War be, and he is hereby, authorized
and required to issue to Daniel Hart, a duplicate of land warrant number one thousand
four hundred and sixty-nine, for one hundred acres, substituting the name of Daniel
Hart in the place of Adam Hart, upon the said Daniel Hart furnishing satisfactory
proof that he is the devisee of said Adam Hart, or entitled under his will to receive
the same, together with satisfactory evidence of the loss of said

thousand eight hundred and twenty-nine, or give security against its presentation
for satisfaction by patent or scrip at any time hereafter.
