Mr. Henley, from the Committee on Patents, reported the
following bill:
A BILL
To renew the patent heretofore granted to Hamilton Lapham.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Repre-
sentatives of the United States of America in Congress
assembled
, That the letters patent heretofore granted to
Hamilton Lapham, on the first of March, eighteen hundred
and thirty-three, for “converting lard and tallow into two
separate substances,” a description of which is on record
in the Patent Office, be, and the same is hereby, extended
for the term of fourteen years from and after the first day
of March, eighteen hundred and forty-seven; and that the
Commissioner of Patents be directed to issue letters patent,
in the usual form, to Hamilton Lapham, for the aforesaid
term of fourteen years.
