A BILL
For the payment of a debt due to the heirs of Antoine Peltier.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Repre-
sentatives of the United States of America in Congress
assembled
, That the Secretary of the Treasury be autho-
rized, and he is hereby required, to pay to the heirs of Anto-
ine Peltier, late a citizen of the State of Illinois, the sum of
seventeen hundred and fourteen dollars, with interest there-
on, at the rate of five per centum per annum, from the ninth
day of April, seventeen hundred and eighty-one, until paid,
out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropri-
ated, being for money furnished for the use of the Illinois
regiment under the command of General George Rogers
Clark, and for which Lieutenant Colonel John Montgom-
ery drew a bill of exchange on account of the State of
Virginia, in favor of the said Antoine Peltier.
