following bill:

For the relief of Thomas Crown.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Repre-
sentatives of the United States of America in Congress
assembled
, That the Third Auditor of the Treasury be,
and he is hereby, directed to ascertain the damages sus-
tained by Thomas Crown, by reason of the refusal of the
War Department to execute a contract entered into by
said Crown with Captain George Blaney, on the part of
the government, on the sixteenth day of March, eighteen
hundred and twenty-six, and the amount of damages thus
ascertained, to an amount not exceeding the sum of six
thousand dollars, the Secretary of the Treasury is hereby
directed to pay to said Thomas Crown, out of any mo-
neys in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, in full
satisfaction thereof.
