BE IT ENACTED
By the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in
Congress Assembled.
That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, directed to ascertain what was the value at Chihuahua, in Mexico, on the third day of April anno Domini, eighteen hundred and forty-seven, of the medicines furnished to the army of the United States by Doctor Adolphus Wistizenus, as certified by Lieutenant Kribben by the direction of his superior officer, approved by Colonel A. W. Doniphan, and specified in a schedule annexed to House report, number, 404 , first session, thirtieth Congress, and marked “B-[1?],” and to pay to Doctor Wistizenus the amount so ascertained, out of any moneys in the treasury not otherwise appropriated; also, out of the same funds, to pay to the aforesaid Doctor Adolphus Wistizenus, at the rate of ninety dollars per month, the amount due to him for the time during which he acted as assistant surgeon, under a contract with Colonel D. D. Mitchell of the United States Army.
