Mr. McIlvane, from the Committee on Indian Affairs, reported
the following bill:
A BILL
To provide for the payment of claims of certain citizens of
the United States against the Ottowa, Chippewa, and Pottawatomie
Indians.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Repre-
sentatives of the United States of America in Congress
assembled
, That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he
is hereby, instructed and required to pay, out of any
moneys not otherwise appropriated, to the respective
claimants, whose accounts were audited and allowed by
General William B. Mitchell, who was appointed by the
Secretary of War a commissioner to examine claims of the
citizens of the United States against the Ottowas, Chippe-
was, and Pottawatomies, and the Pottawatomies of Indiana,

and which were confirmed by the Secretary of War, or
their heirs or assigns, the amount thus allowed to each, re-
spectively, upon application being made in the authentic
form at said department.
