the following bill:

For the relief of Manuel X. Harmony.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Repre-
sentatives of the United States of America in Congress
assembled
, That the Secretary of the Treasury ascertain
the amount of damages sustained by Manuel X. Har-
mony, in consequence of the seizure and use of his mules
and wagons, by command of Colonel Doniphan, while pro-
ceeding from the city of Santa Fe to the city of Chihua-
hua, in the republic of Mexico, and ordering the men in
the employment of said Harmony into the service of the
United States; and, on ascertaining the amount of said
loss and damages, to cause the same to be paid to the said
Harmony, out of any money in the treasury not otherwise
appropriated.
