State of Arkansas, commonly know as Lovely Donation claims.

A BILL
To authorize the location of certain adjudicated claims in the
State of Arkansas, commonly know as Lovely Donation claims.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Repre- sentatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That all donation claims arising under the act approved twenty-fourth May, eighteen hundred and twen- ty-eight, entitled “An act to aid the State of Ohio in ex- tending the Miami canal from Dayton to Lake Erie, and to grant a quantity of land to said State, to aid in the con- struction of canals authorized by law, and for making do- nations of land to certain persons in Arkansas territory,” or under the several acts supplementary to, or amendatory of said act which were satisfactorily proven, before the |

twenty-fourth May, eighteen hundred and thirty-eight, and admitted by the proper officer, to be valid and genuine, and which may not since have been discovered to be spu- rious and fraudulent, and which remain unlocated in whole or in part by reason of defective entries, or the death or infancy of the parties, may be located at any time within two years from the date of this act, in the same mode and manner in every respect, as might have been done on the twenty-fourth May, eighteen hundred and thirty-eight, the day when the said several laws in relation to said claims expired: Provided, That no location shall be allowed within the time limited by this act, of any claim alleged to be fraudulent, until all taint of fraud shall be removed to the satisfaction of the Commissioner of the General Land Office. And that after the expiration of two years from the date of this act, none of said lands, that may then remain, shall be further reserved by the President from sale. |
