following bill:
A BILL
To authorize the Secretary of the Treasury to sell the marine
hospital, and the lot of land on which it stands, at Chelsea,
in Massachusetts, and the purchase of a new site, and the
erection of a new marine hospital, near the city of Boston.

following bill:
A BILL
To authorize the Secretary of the Treasury to sell the marine
hospital, and the lot of land on which it stands, at Chelsea,
in Massachusetts, and the purchase of a new site, and the
erection of a new marine hospital, near the city of Boston.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Repre- sentatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury is hereby authorized to sell at public auction the buildings now used as a marine hospital at Chelsea, in the State of Massa- chusetts, and to cause the lot of land on which the said hospital stands to be laid out in building lots, of the usual size, and streets, of the common width in Chelsea, and sold at public auction; said sales to be made at such times as the Secretary of the Treasury may deem expedient, after |

being advertised in three of the newspapers of Boston at least two weeks, and the proceeds of such sales shall be deposited in the treasury of the United States; and the Secretary of the Treasury is authorized to execute such deeds as maybe proper to give the purchasers good titles. Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the sum of fifty thousand dollars be appropriated, out of any moneys in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the pur- chase of a site, and the erection of a marine hospital, in the vicinity of Boston, under the direction and superin- tendence of the Secretary of the Treasury. |
