BE IT ENACTED
By the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in
Congress Assembled.
That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and required to pay to the heirs and legal representatives of Presley Thornton, late a captain in the continental line of the army of the United States, in the revolutionary war, five years’ full pay, that being the commutation of the half pay for life promised by the resolves of Congress to such as should serve to the end of the war; together with such interest thereon as would now be due if a certificate for such commutation had been issued and subscribed under the principles of the funding act, and no payments made thereon; to be paid out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated.
