the following bill:
A BILL
For the relief of William K. Ashard.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Repre-
sentatives of the United States of America in Congress
assembled
, That there be paid to William K. Ashard, out
of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated,
the sum of three thousand dollars in full for all the right,
title and interest of the said Ashard in and to the cannon
lock and primer invented by him: Provided, however,
That the said sum of three thousand dollars shall not be
paid to the said Ashard until he assigns and transfers to
the United States, by a legal and proper instrument in
writing, under his hand and seal, all of his right, title and
interest in and to the said lock and primer.
