An act to revive and amend the act entitled “an act granting bounties in land and
extra pay to certain Canadian Volunteers approved March 5. 1816.”
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the united States of America
in Congress assembled, That the act entitled “an act granting bounties in land and extra pay to certain
Canadian volunteers” approved March 6, 1816, be and the same is hereby revived and
continued in force for five years from the passage hereof and no longer.
Sec. 2
And be it further enacted, that all warrants issued in pursuance of the act entitled “an act granting bounties
in land and extra pay to certain Canadian volunteers” and which have not been located,
and those which may be issued in pursuance of this act, shall be located on such lands
as have been offered at public sale according to law and no other.
Sec 3.
And be it further enacted, That instead of the bounty given in the act hereby revised and amended, the following
rates shall be given. For a Colonel four hundred and Eighty acres, for a captain
three hundred and twenty acres, for a subaltern, three hundred and twenty acres, to
a non commissioned officer, musician or private one hundred and sixty acres, and to
the medical and other staff in proportion to their pay.
Sec 4
And be it further enacted that all such parts of the act hereby revived and amended, as shall be inconsistent
with, or contravene the provisions of this act, are hereby repealed.
