Mr. Butler, from the Committee on Revolutionary Claims,
reported the following bill:
A BILL
For the relief of Mrs. Mary M. Telfair, the only surviving
heir of Israel Pearce, deceased.
Whereas, it was satisfactorily shown the Israel Pearce, of Rhode Island, was, in his lifetime, the owner of final settlement, or army certificates, issued in the following names, to wit: Robert Allen, Mark Barrons, Potter Card, Abijah Ford, Caesar Finch, Ichabod Howard, Peleg Johnson, Hugh McDougall, Jabez Remington, Joseph Wheeler, Tobias Briggs, Scipio Brown, Asa Lewis, Peter Hazard, Isaac Curtis, and Southcote Langworthy, in right of which, he, or his assigns, were entitled to arrearages of pay, bounty land, &c. : And, whereas, it is alleged that all these claims have not been paid and satisfied, therefore,

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Repre-
sentatives of the United States of America in Congress

assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury be au-
thorized and directed to pay to Mrs. Mary M. Telfair,
only heir and legal representative of Israel Pearce, de-
ceased, the amount due on such final settlement cer-
tificates owned by said Pearce as the books of the treas-
ury will not show to have been paid, and in particularly
to pay the amount due on those two certificates, for
which powers of attorney are now in the hands of Mrs.
Telfair, and also to grant such warrants for bounty lands
to be issued to said Telfair as it may appear she is en-
titled to from the records of the department, it being un-
derstood that the said Mrs. Telfair absolve the United
States from all further claims, and give good and suffi-
cient security against the claim of any other person or
persons to said certificates or bounty lands.
