reported the following bill:

For the relief of the legal representative, or representatives,
of Captain Charles Smith.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Repre-
sentatives of the United States of America in Congress
assembled
, That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and
he is hereby, authorized and required to pay, out of any
money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, to the
legal representative, or representatives, of Captain Charles
Smith, of Prince George county, Maryland, an officer in
the extra regiment of said State, in the war of the revolu-
tion, the full pay of a captain in said revolutionary war,
for five years, the same being the commutation authorized
by law to be paid in such cases: Provided, The half pay

for life, or the commutation in lieu thereof, provided by
law, has not been heretofore received by the said Charles
Smith, or his legal representatives.
