That the Secretary of War be, and he is hereby, directed to place the name of John
Gawney, late non-commissioned officer in the army of the United States, upon the pension
list, at the rate of eight dollars a month, to commence from the first of January,
eighteen hundred and forty-eight, and to continue during his life.
