Mr. Barringer, from the Committee on Indian Affairs, reported
the following bill:
A BILL
For the relief of the Creek nation of Indians.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Repre-
sentatives of the United States of America in Congress
assembled
, That the Secretary of War cause to be paid
to the Creek Indians, through the agent for paying annu-
ities, and in the same manner as annuities are paid to said
Indians, the sum of one hundred forty-one thousand
and fifty-five dollars and ninety-one cents; that being the
same remaining in the treasury belonging to said Indians,
after paying to the people of Georgia the amount awarded
to them under said treaty
sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That said Sec

retary of War cause to be paid, through the agent afore-
said, them sum of forty-three thousand three hundred and
thirty-two dollars and thirty-three cents, to that portion of
said Creek Indians who were the followers of General
McIntosh, and who emigrated west in 1829, under the
conduct and control of Luther Blake, as provided in the
ninth article of the treaty of twenty-fourth January, eigh-
teen hundred and twenty-six; and that said sums be paid
out of any moneys now in the treasury not otherwise ap-
propriated.
