A Bill
Granting lands to the State of Ohio for the construction of a Road from lower Sandusky
Southardly to the Greenville Treaty line agreeably to the provisions of the Treaty of Brownstown
of 1808.
Sec 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States
of America in Congress assembled, That there by and is hereby granted to the State
of Ohio for the purpose of constructing a road from Lower Sandusky in said State Southardly to some eligible point on the Greenville Treaty line, to be determined by the State
of Ohio, a quantity of land equal to one half of six Sections in width on each side
of said Road to be selected under the direction of the Governour of said State subject to the approval of the Secratary of the Treasury said lands to be selected out of any unsold lands belonging to the
United States

Sec. 2. Be it further enacted, That the said lands hereby granted to said State shall
be subject to the disposal of the Legislature thereof, for the purpose of constructing
a rail road, Mac Adam Road or road composed of such materials as said Legislature
may determine and that said road shall be and remain a public highway for the use
of the Government of the United States free from toll or other charge upon the transportation
of any property or troops of the United States
Sec 3 Be it further Enacted That before it shall be competent for the State of Ohio
to select or dispose of any of said lands said State shall by an act of its ligislature accept such lands in trust, and agree to dispose of the same for the purposes ^aforesaid^ and for no other. and shall furnish a plat of the courses and distances and points
of termination of said road to the secratary of the Treasury and shall also furnish a plan and specifications of the maner of constructing the same

Sec 4 Be it further Enacted That no lands reserved for schools or for military purposes
nor any to which the right of preemption has attached shall be selected by said State
under this act
