BE IT ENACTED
By the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in
Congress Assembled.
That the following sums of money be, and the same are hereby, appropriated out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the purpose of carrying into execution, in part, the twelfth article of the treaty between the United States and Mexico, made and concluded at Guadalupe Hidalgo on the second day of February, in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and forty-eight;
For payment of the instalment and interest which will fall due, under said article, in the thirtieth day of May, in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and forty-nine, the sum of three millions seven hundred and twenty thousand dollars;
For payment of the instalment and interest which will fall due, under said article, on the thirtieth day of May, in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and fifty, the sum of three millions five hundred and forty thousand dollars.
