BE IT ENACTED
By the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress Assembled.
That the right of pre-emption to the west half of the southwest quarter of section sixteen in township number fifteen north, of range number five east, in the Onachita land district, in the State of Louisiana, is hereby granted to Joshua Holden; and that an equal quantity of other land may be selected and appropriated for school purposes in lieu thereof; Provided, That proof shall first be filed in the register’s office of said land district, to the satisfaction of the register, that a majority of the citizens of said township shall have consented to such change.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the land thus selected, in quantity not exceeding eighty acres, is hereby granted to the State of Louisiana, to be used in the same manner, and for the same purposes, as the land herein first described.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That the right of pre-emption, hereby granted, shall be extended to the said Joshua Holden, for the term of twelve months, at the minimum price per acre.
