A bill for the relief of Jacob P. Montgomery & others, soldiers in the late War with
Mexico
Sec. 1st. Be it enacted by the Senate & House of Representatives of the United states
of America in Congress assembled, that the Secretary of the Treasury be, & he is hereby
authorised to pay to Jacob P. Montgomery, late a private in Captain Keys’ Company,
third Regiment of Mississippi Volunteers, out of any moneys in the Treasury unappropriated,
the sum of one hundred & sixty two dollars & fifty cents with interest thereon from
the 23rd day of May 1848.
Sec. 2nd Be it further, enacted, that the Secretary of the Treasury be, & he is hereby
authorised to pay to Joel M. Acker, late a Captain in the second Regiment

dollars with interest thereon from the 23rd day of May A.D. 1848.
