A BILL
For the relief of the legal representatives of Washington S.
Bebee.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Repre-
sentatives of the United States of America in Congress
assembled
, That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and
he is hereby, authorized to settle and adjust the claim of
the legal representatives of Washington S. Bebee against
the United States, for a team of mules and wagon alleged
to have been taken from him for the public service, by
order of Brigadier General Cadwallader, at or near the
National Bridge in Mexico, and for such loss and damage
as the said Bebee actually sustained by the loss or de

struction of his goods in consequence of his team and
wagon having been pressed into the public service, as afore-
said. And upon such claim being satisfactorily proved or
established, the legal representatives of said Bebee shall be
paid, out of any moneys in the treasury not otherwise ap-
propriated, such sum of money as the Secretary of the
Treasury, in the adjustment of said claim, shall adjudge to
be just and reasonable.
