An act granting the Detroit Romeo and Port Huron Rail Road company, public land’s, on certain conditions.
Sec 1st Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States in congress assembled, that two hundred thousand acres of the public lands in the state of Michigan are hereby granted to the Detroit Romeo and Port Huron Rail Road Company on condition that the Directors of the said company, shall execute acontract to the United States agreeing to freight the mail of the United States over said road free forever.
Sec 2nd After the execution of the said contract, the said Directors of said company have full power to locate the said two hundred thousand acres on any lands in said state are ^subject^ to sale and make a return of said selection to the Land Offices in the District where such lands are subject to sale and also a copy of the same to the Secretary of the Treasuary
Sec 3rd This act shall take effect after its passage
