BE IT ENACTED
By the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress Assembled.
That the Commissioner of Pensions cause to be issued in the name of Stoughton A. Fletcher, the assignee thereof, duplicate certificates of location, for bounty land, in lieu of the originals believed to be destroyed of the following descriptions to wit, No. twelve thousand seven hundred and twenty-six issued to Jesse F. Grayson, of the third regiment Illinois Volunteers. Number. fifteen thousand and sixty-six issued to David P. Baker, of the same Regiment, and No. thirteen thousand five hundred and sixty-four issued to Milton Bland of the first Regiment Indiana Volunteers, he the said Fletcher giving bond, to be filed in the office of said Commissioner of Pensions, conditioned to indemnify the United States against loss, consequent upon the relief hereby granted, in such form, and penalty as may be prescribed by said Commissioner, with sureties to be approved by the Judge of the District Court of the District of Indiana, or by the Attorney of the United States for said district. Provided, however, That before duplicate certificates shall issue as aforesaid, satisfactory proof shall be made before the Commissioner of Pensions, that the assignments of the original Bounty land warrants bore date after they were issued.
