A Bill

Supplementary to the act approved March 19, 1842, entitled an act supplementary to an act entitled “An act to amend the act approved may 13, 1800 entitled An act to amend an act entitled an act to Establish the Judicial Courts of the United States.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and house of Representatives of the United States of America in congress assembled That the Judges of the Courts of the United States who are authorized by law to appoint Commissioners to Select persons to Serve as jurors in Said Courts, be and they are hereby authorized to allow Suitable compensation to such commissioners and the clerks and other persons who may be necessarily appointed by them ^said commissioners^ and employed in the execution of said duty. Provided that Such compensation Shall in no case exceed five dollars a day for any one person.

Sec: 2. And be it further enacted that in all cases where claims are made upon the Marshal for costs fees or ^other^ compensation for services rendered by any Juror witness officer or other person Employed in and by the Courts of the United States for the furtherance of Suits or business before them or any of them, he may upon due notice to the District Attorney of the District Submit the said ^any such^ claim to the ^proper^ Court and the decision of Such Court shall be final and conclusive in the premises.
