Mr. Butler, from the Committee on Revolutionary Claims,
reported the following bill:
A BILL
For the relief of the legal representatives of James Bell, de-
ceased.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Repre-
sentatives of the United States of America in Congress
assembled
, That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and
he is hereby, authorized and directed to cause to be paid,
out of any moneys in the treasury not otherwise appropri-
ated, to the legal representatives of James Bell, late of
Chambly, in the British province of Lower Canada, de-
ceased, the sum of three hundred and twenty-nine dollars
(that being the balance of principal found due to the re-
presentatives of the said Bell, upon the settlement of their
accounts at the treasury, under the act entitled “An act

for the relief of the heirs of James Bell, deceased,” ap-
proved the thirtieth of June, one thousand eight hundred
and thirty-four,) with interest on the said balance of prin-
cipal from the said thirtieth day of June, one thousand
eight hundred and thirty-four, till paid; and the further
sum of twenty-one thousand and ninety-one dollars, twenty
cents, being the amount of interest accrued on the princi-
pal debt of six thousand and fifty-six dollars thirty-four
cents, from the fifteenth day of June, one thousand seven
hundred and seventy-six, till the thirtieth day of June, one
thousand eight hundred and thirty-four, as appears by the
said accounts settled by the auditor under authority of the
said recited act of the thirtieth day of June, one thousand
eight hundred and thirty-four.
