Mr. Darling, from the Committee on Private Land Claims,
reported the following bill:
A BILL
To authorize the confirmation of the claim of Richard H. Barrett
to a quarter section of land in East Florida, under the
act of the fourth day of August, eighteen hundred and forty-two,
to provide for the armed occupation and settlement of
the peninsula of East Florida.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Repre-
sentatives of the United States of America in Congress
assembled
, That upon the filing of the necessary proof
that he has complied with the provisions of an act en-
titled “An act to provide for the armed occupation and
settlement of the unsettled part of the peninsula of East
Florida,” to the satisfaction of the proper officers, Richard
H. Barrett shall be entitled to the quarter section of land

improved by him, in the same manner as though the same
had not been set apart as a military reservation, and a
patent for the same shall be issued accordingly.
