For the relief of Giles U. Ellis.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Repre-
sentatives of the United States of America in Congress
assembled
, That the pay and emoluments of Giles U.
Ellis, for his military services during the Florida war, shall
not be withheld by reason of the public property, which it
appears by the Third Auditor’s letter to said Ellis, of June
twenty-fifth, eighteen hundred and forty-five, is charged to
him, it satisfactorily appearing that he received the said
property only as the agent of Richard R. Crum, the regi-
mental quartermaster, who is therefore alone properly
chargeable therewith.
