BE IT ENACTED
By the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in
Congress Assembled.
That from and after the passage of this act, it shall be the duty of the Heads of Bureaus and other officers at the seat of Government, in examining and deciding upon claims arising out of the late war with Mexico, to give preference and priority in such examination, to those belonging to, and preferred by, Widows and orphans of their authorized agents.
