Chap. LXIX. — An Act for the Relief of W. B. Slaughter, late Secretary of the Territory of Wisconsin.*
The accounts of W. B. Slaughter to be settled on principles of justice and equity.
Balance found due to be paid him. provided that it shall not exceed $1731 51.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America
in Congress assembled, That the accounting officers of the Treasury Department be authorized and directed
to settle the accounts of W. B. Slaughter, late Secretary of the Treasury of Wisconsin,
upon the principles of equity and justice; and that they cause to be paid to him the balance, if any be due him, out of any moneys
in the treasury not otherwise appropriated: Provided, That such balance shall not exceed the sum of one thousand seven hundred and thirty-one
dollars and fifty-one cents.
