BE IT ENACTED by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
THATthe Secretary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized to settle, upon principles of equity, the accounts of Walter Loomis and Abel Gay, so far as they are original contractors, for making the Cumberland road, and so far as they contracted to make the said road, or any part thereof, different from the original contract, and for keeping the same in repair; and to pay any balance that may be found due to them, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated.
