BE IT ENACTED by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
THATthe accounting officers of the Treasury be authorized and required to audit and settle the accounts of Thomas Douglas, late Attorney of the United States for East Florida, for his services in defending, by direction of the President of the United States, sundry suits founded upon claims to lands in his district, and to allow him just and reasonable compensation for his said services, according to allowances heretofore made for similar services in similar cases; and that the Secretary of the Treasury be authorized to pay said Thomas Douglas any balance due him on such account, out of any moneys in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated.
