1 BE IT ENACTED by the Senate and House of Representa-
2 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
3 THATthere be paid to the legal representatives of the late
4 James F. Sothoron, out of any moneys in the Treasury
5 of the United States not otherwise appropriated, the sum
6 of seven thousand three hundred and thirty-five dollars, as
a full indemnity for the loss of personal property destroyed
by the enemy during the late war with Great Britain, in
consequence of the occupation of said Sothoron’s buildings by
the American forces by order of their commanding officer.

Strike out all after the word “That” in the third line to the word “dollars” in the Sixth line. And insert as follows– “the Secretary of the Treasury be directed to ascertain the then value of the tobacco owned by the late James F. Sothoron, and which was destroyed by the British troops during the late war, and to pay the amount thereof out of any moneys in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, to the legal representatives of the said James F. Sothoron deceased
