BE IT ENACTED by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
THATthe Secretary of the Treasury be, and he hereby is, authorized and directed to pay to William Woodbridge and Henry Chipman, late judges of the United States for the territory of Michigan, for four years’ services in as-certaining, adjusting, and settling claims to land, and performing other duties in conformity with the act entitled “An act to provide for the adjustment of titles of land in the town of Detroit and territory of Michigan, and for other purposes,” approved the twenty-first April, eighteen hundred and six, and with “An act relative to the plan of Detroit in Michigan territory,” approved the twenty-eighth May, eighteen hundred and thirty; and that they be allowed five hundred dollars each per annum, to be paid out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated.
