BE IT ENACTED by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America
in Congress assembled,
THATH. Fredieu, Maximin Vercher, C. Sanmiguel, Pierre N. Gagnon, V. Caubarreux, and Francisco
Harbo, of the parish of Natchitoches, of the State of Louisiana, be permitted to enter,
by way of pre-emption, in conformity with the act of the fourth of September, eighteen
hundred and forty-one, granting pre-emptions to actual settlers, their claims respectively,
notwithstanding the location of such pre-emption right may conflict with the Spanish
claims of Louis Hernando, Louis Mirino, and Jean Pierre Vilade, or either of them:
Provided, That the title to said pre-emptors, authorized by this act, shall be construed
only as a relinquishment on the part of the United States of all right in their favor.
